Since we are now in the month of unconditional love, as Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, I wanted to focus on the healing powers of Rose Quartz. Not only is it the stone of love, as it activates our heart chakra…but it is also a huge source of deep inner healing, peace, and friendship.
We often assume love only shows up in our lives when we are giving it to others, but self love is just as important as loving someone close to you.
I use Rose Quartz during my meditations to restore the harmony, trust, and unconditional love within myself. As someone who has taken advantage of streaming all of Ru Paul’s Drag Race during quarantine, I’d like to offer a quote from Ru himself: “If you can’t love yourself, how the hell are you going to love somebody else?” Before I start giving my love to my friends and family, I like to let myself revel in it. It reminds me to be kind to myself, honor my truth, and always focus on living in a peaceful state.
Once I am able to ground myself and feel the positive energy running through my body, almost ready to burst…that’s when the love I give to others really starts to excel.
The Rose Quartz stone helps to purify the heart at all levels; any time I feel down or need a little pick me up, I like to hold on to the stone tightly while closing my eyes and taking a few deep breaths. Rose Quartz aids in ridding of any negative energy and protects against all types of pollution: whether that is environmental or negativity that lives in our heads. It replaces all the bad with pure intent and love.
Though Valentine’s Day is mostly about showing your love to someone else, don’t hesitate to show it to yourself. To be able to love someone entirely, you have to be able to love and accept yourself just as much.
Rose Quartz balances the divine feminine with the masculine, giving overall strength to the heart, body, and mind.
